With a combined 35+ years of experience, we have faced and overcome multiple market cycles with our clients. Our disciplined approach has allowed us to work with 3rd, 4th and 5th generations of family wealth. We value legacy, and while we are unable to promise results, we can promise wisdom…and it’s free.
Our detailed planning process allows us to completely understand each client's personal and financial situation, objectives, comfort level with risk and time horizon for achieving goals.
Through estate planning, you will ensure your assets will be handled exactly how you want. By involving the help of a professional, you will also ensure the transfers of your assets will occur with minimum tax consequences, and that your estate has enough liquidity to meet its obligations to your beneficiaries.
Our client relationships begin with gathering your information and determining your goals and expectations. We make sure that we’re crystal clear about what you want to achieve before providing any advice.
Having thoroughly analyzed your situation, your goals, your timeframe, your risk tolerance and other factors, our team develops clear, straightforward recommendations.
Finally, we agree on who will monitor progress toward your goals. If we handle that responsibility, we will periodically review the situation with you and adjust recommendations as needed.
We actively monitor your progress, make course corrections and, if your goals change, adjust for a new destination. Our job isn’t complete until your goals are reality.
As an independent Registered Investment Advisor, we provide the best advice for each client’s specific situation and needs without concerning ourselves with the agenda of a parent company. Our services range from financial planning to investment management to estate planning—we can meet a wide range of needs under one roof. Finally, we are oriented toward providing each client the attention and service they deserve. We treat our clients as individuals and not numbers.
What is an independent financial advisor?
Independent registered investment advisors (RIAs) are professional independent advisory firms that provide personalized financial advice to their clients, many of whom have complex financial needs. Because these advisors are independent, they are not tied to any particular family of funds or investment products. As fiduciaries, they are held to the highest standard of care—and are required to act in the best interests of their clients at all times. They are registered with either the Securities and Exchange Commission or state securities regulators.
What does being a Fiduciary mean?
A fiduciary is a professional entrusted to manage assets or wealth while putting the client’s best interests first at all times. Financial advisors who follow a fiduciary standard must disclose any conflict, or potential conflict, to their clients prior to and throughout the advisory engagement. Fiduciaries will also adopt a code of ethics and will fully disclose how they are compensated.
Where is my money kept?
In our advisory role, we never take custody of client assets. We utilize Schwab Institutional, a division of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., as the custodian of client accounts and as our primary broker. When your account is established with Schwab, you provide Silvia McColl Wealth Management with limited trading authorization on your account. This authority allows us to process trades directly in client accounts.
How do I transfer assets to Silvia McColl Wealth Management?
Typically, we only need a copy of your most recent account statement and your signatures on a few forms. We will take care of setting up your new account and transferring your assets.
